The Romanov Conspiracy A Thriller Glenn Meade Books
I've been a fan of Glenn Meade since reading Snow Wolf (a favorite I've read twice and kept in my personal library). The Romanov Conspiracy is no less a classic of how Meade transfers words to paper. The Romanov Conspiracy takes the reader to a time in Russia when the people suffered through a terrible time----The Russian Revolution. Lenin has captured Moscow, and his Red soldiers kill indiscriminately counter-revolutionaries and people who fail to fulfill their part in the revolution against the Romanov aristocracy.
Tsar Nicolai Romanov and his family are held captive by the Reds in the town of Ekaterinburg in a home called the Ipatiev House. They are guarded by ruthless Red Army thugs, who are there to serve one purpose.... To execute the former Tsar and his entire family. Tsar Nicolas, a man who once commanded one-sixth of the land on the entire planet with an iron fist, is helpless to protect his family.
The Americans, British, and Russian White Army sympathizers have formulated a plan to rescue the Tsar and his family. Three agents must infiltrate Russia and rescue the Romanovs right under the Reds' noses. But this is no easy plan. Ruthless Red Army guards are trailing after the agents, and never too far away to leave the reader wondering if they will succeed.
Filled with romance, suspense, adventure, mystery, and tragedy, the Romanov Conspiracy will leave the reader wondering if any of the Romanovs actually did escape with their lives. Meade has researched this period well. It is a time during the Zhivago era that we came to love so much from the movie Doctor Zhivago. I highly recommend this book! You will not be able to put it down.

The Romanov Conspiracy A Thriller Glenn Meade Books Reviews
I really enjoyed this book. I am a fan of historical fiction, and you weave in a good mystery along with that, and I'm sold. There are numerous characters and several time lines but the author does a good job for the reader of holding the threads together. The book was very well-written and it was certainly an engrosssing story. At the end of the version of the book you'll find "A Conversation with Glenn Meade" which I suggest for further insights into the book and it's characters.
From the author's note
"Much of what you are about to read is true.
The rest, but as small part, is fiction, part of the mosaic of storytelling that a writer must employ to bring life to his tale.
But as to which part is truth and which small part is fiction, I will leave that for you to decide."
Glenn Meade had me from page one! The Romanov Conspiracy started off a bit slow--and even slightly confusing because there were so many characters to keep track of. But once the story got going it was non-stop action! I completely enjoyed the story--and I have no idea if it's true or not! I hope it is, because this is a much more compelling telling of the events leading up to and the aftermath of the ordered execution of the Romanovs than the Communists wanted the world to know.
I especially appreciated that this author chose to use clean language throughout the story--very uncharacteristic for something of this genre. Seriously, there was not an h-e-double hockey sticks to be found. But some of the characters actually said things like "Bloody heck!" or "Where the heck did you learn to shoot like that?" or "Go to the devil!"
If you are looking for some heart stopping excitement combined with an intriguing, keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat story, I highly recommend The Romanov Conspiracy!
This story is set in the historical background in Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution. After Lenin took power, his government was weak. The country was in the state of civil war. The Tsar supporters, the Whites were fighting back. However, the Tsar and his family were under house arrest by Lenin. Initially, the Bolsheviks did not know what to do with them. Also initially the Whites were stronger because of the support from the West. As the Whites were closing in, the Reds moved the Tsar and his family to Ekaterinburg. The story is about a plot from the West attempting to rescue the Tsar and his family in Ekaterinburg. Eventually, the Bolsheviks decided to execute the Tsar and his family to tell the world that there would be no turning back. After the execution, there was a rumor that the Tsar’s youngest daughter Anastasia survived the execution and escaped.
In February 1920, there was a woman that appeared in Germany. She claimed to be Anastasia and survived. What was intriguing is that this woman, who later called herself Anna Anderson, knew some of the things about the Tsar and his family. Only a person who was close to the Tsar would be able to furnish such kind of information. DNA profiling was not available during her lifetime, a few people believed in what she said. DNA profiling was only available after she passed away. Eventually, DNA profiling categorically indicated that she was not related to the Tsar. Read the story and you will find what happened to Anastasia.
