Almost Like Being in Love A Destination Wedding Novel Beth K Vogt 9781476789804 Books

Having dated steadily for two years, Caron Hollister and Alex Madison have causally talked about marriage, so that makes them "almost" engaged, doesn't it? Caron certainly hopes so, especially after quitting her job as a realtor in her father's company, flying to Colorado to visit her "definitely" engaged friend, dodging her "happens-to-live-here" previous boyfriend, and winning an all expense paid destination wedding at a bridal fair. Caron's orderly life has just become very complicated.

Kade Webster's world just became very small when Caron Hollister shows up in Denver, Colorado. How can she just "happen to be" the best friend of one of his clients when she lives in Florida? And how can he possibly have asked her to take a temporary job in his realty group, staging a home which has the potential to make or break his future career?

This love triangle of sorts eventually equals itself out, but Caron, Kade and Alex, are all three going to learn valuable, sometimes painful lessons, about honesty and false expectations. It had been so easy to seek "the approval of men, rather than the approval of God." Despite a mild start, "Almost Like Being in Love" ends really, really strong.

Enjoyable read!
This book is good for older teens and all the way to Senior Citizens. I lost myself in the pages of this book and nothing could get me to put it down. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!
Another wonderful read from Beth K. Vogt. Every time I read her latest, I think it's the best of them all. Loved this story. Can't wait to see what else she'll write.
Sometimes you just need a book to take your mind off of everyday stuff. This book had a great setting and realistic characters. The storyline moved quickly, and smoothly transitioned. The inspirational aspect to the story really iced the cake. I was sorry for it to be over, but I loved how things turned out. Great job Beth Vogt!
I downloaded this on my so I could read it at night. The problem was, I started it during the day and couldn't put it down! When I should've been checking things off my To Do List, I just kept on reading. Beth's writing does that--invites you in and compels you to stay a while. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, the deeper issues woven into the story, and the pertinent placement of Scripture--pointing to an even bigger narrative.
Pick it up. I'll bet you won't be able to put it down!
Beth Voyt's second book in the Destination Wedding series, Almost Like Being in Love, has a reader returning to the beautiful Panhandle of Florida and getting reacquainted with the Hollister family of book one.

Caron Hollister is following in her fathers footsteps, selling real estate in his firm and hoping to become his partner in the future. She's dating Alex Madison. longtime family friend and according to her parents, they're the perfect couple. She's spent her life doing everything she can to win her fathers approval, including breaking up with her former boyfriend, Kade Webster. Kade has struck out on his own, starting a real estate company in the state of Colorado. Two years after their breakup an unlikely turn of events has Caron and Kade working together again and the sparks are flying.

Kade had my sympathies from the beginning and I could even sympathize with Caron initially (Terrific names by the way). Kade's moved on and has made a name for himself, but Caron's still living her role as a people pleasing approval seeker. I couldn't quite understand or agree with the choices she made, past or present. Of course the angst between the two had me turning the pages as fast as I could to see what would happen next. Caron, Kade and the secondary characters of Margo, Mitch and Lacey came to life and had me feeling like I was a part of a circle of good friends. As such, I did my share of talking to the characters, telling them what they should and shouldn't be doing. I know I'm reading a really good book when that starts to happen.

Beth Voyt has written a tender love story that deals with issues of forgiveness, second chances and letting go of the approval of others. Voyt always brings her stories to amazing conclusions and Almost Like Being in Love is no exception. The Telluride destination wedding 's vivid description and setting had me longing to pack a bag and hop a plane. I love armchair traveling to all the different locations this series provides. I enjoyed the story so much and look forward to my next destination trip.

Thank you, Beth Voyt for this romantic destination experience. Also, many thanks to Howard Books for making a copy of this book available for review.
