The hero Vic & the heroine Freya had good chemistry and the sex scenes were good. Also I liked Vic. He a was faithful, possessive, protective and jealous alpha hero which is a plus to me. No cheating. He did not even look at another woman after meeting her and at no time was the impression given that he was a manhoe before meeting her. Unfortunately I did not like the heroine. She was boring, snarky and needy. She seemed desperate and let him for the most part boss her around unless she wanted to do something idiotic and then she became stubborn. I could not figure out why he wanted her and while I felt the hotness in their relationship, I never felt any love. After half way through the book she decided to strong arm Vic into letting her meeting his boss and going under cover when she had no experience at anything like that. It was beyond stupid and difficult to read about.

Like a Fox edition by JM Sevilla Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

This is one of my favorite authors right now. I have read the Marked books, When To Let Go and Beginnings. When you start reading this one, you notice similarities to Marked. Freya works in her family's coffee shop/bookstore and has the same gorgeous customer every day. Once Freya and Vic start going out, she realizes he has secrets that are pretty big. No spoilers here, but if you loved her other books, I think you'll enjoy this as well. I liked the tie in to Marked. Another great job, J.M. Sevilla!
I love JM Sevilla's books. This one wasn't as "action based" as the Marked series but just as good. It's hard to explain JM books but all I can say is every one is an adventure, heart stopping, heart warming, and makes you cry with a broken heart but happy as the best day in your life all wrapped up in a story that really could be true!! That makes a great author.
Very excited to find this book by this Author. I loved the first two MARKED books by her and was hoping to read more on some of the other characters I love. Needless to sat she did not disappoint. This was a one day read for me and I loved it. Vic is very intense, a little intimidating and very Sexy with an accent to boot.
Lol. Vic is on the hunt for a man his employer is looking for, but finds the woman who brings him to life.
I have loved everything by JM Sevilla, but for some reason the marked series and this awesome spin-off are my favorites! Vic is just.... gah he's just one of those characters that you want to climb in the book for the sole purpose of watching him every second. He's mysterious and broody at first but wow what a surprise when he opens up to Freya! And his accent just adds to it.
I love the excitement and adventure JM does so well at building and those sexy moments can make your kindle melt! I loved Like a Fox and I can't wait for more!
I also loved the little cameo of Link in this one. It made me want to go back and re-read all of them over again!
If you want an exciting, sweet, steamy, and twisty plot, I highly recommend this one!

5 give me more because I want it bad stars!! )

Freya Brennan, 24, is a waitress in her family’s café-bookstore in Northern California. Vic Vitalle, 32, is her new elusive regular customer who shows up every day at 9am. She has her eye on him; he has his eye on her. And when he finally asks her on a date tells her he’s picking her up for dinner things get a lot more interesting.

Vic is quite the aloof mystery man of few words. His strange and enigmatic ways were intriguing, pulling me into the story. Freya is pretty down-to-earth, and while she gets sucked into Vic’s intense aura, she still remains a strong character. Vic and Freya have some distinct chemistry together and their encounters are seriously hot.

Told from Freya’s first person point of view, the story boasts steamy encounters and a mystery action-adventure plot. Certain aspects may require some suspension of disbelief, but still it’s an interesting story that kept me turning pages to find out what was going to unfold next. Plus, I have a soft spot for exclusive partners-in-crime type romance. ;-) I liked the message of finding something you don’t know you need and shaking things up a bit.

The supporting characters, from Freya’s quirky family and friends to Vic’s bad ones, make a nice addition to the story, and I enjoyed all the twists that accompanied them. They never seemed flat or trite, and they certainly weren't stereotypical which can be a pitfall of minor characters. I particularly appreciated the depth that Vikki’s character was hinted at having, and I think she’d make an interesting tale with Vault from the snippets shown of him in this story. The author did a good job with the epilogue, wrapping up even some of the supporting characters and glimpsing into the future of Freya and Vic.
I'm not sure why others are being so hard on the author. If like me you have read his/her other books, you will know they are consistently good in terms of passion, sexual chemistry, emotion and suspense. I will never turn up a Sevilla book and after reading this, I still wont.

Having said that , for me this was a slightly less emotional book than previous few (No tears this time) so that made it a tiny bit less enjoyable. I like both main characters, they are sexier than h*** together. Freya did depart from character a bit at the back of the book but hey its fiction. if you want a really entertaining story, you have to suspend disbelief as a matter of course. I see this author as having similarities to Alethea Romig who is a much followed author in this genre. Her books all involve huge amounts of suspend disbelief but we're all still riveted so its par for the course. As for whether Vic had slept with Arianna in the past - I think the point was that Vic said he would never lie and he didn't. The never lying bit made him extra sexy from my POV.

This is a stand alone spin off from the Marked series and I am so looking forward to more outings within this world. New character Bones is intriguing and everyone who has read Marked is dying to find out what Vault's story is!

Thank you JM for the opportunity to read another one of your wonderful stories!
